A-workx ‘Mighty 1′ based on the 1-Series M Coupe

After a-workx showed us the fastest street legal M3 Coupe with the M3 460 CS last fall, now they;ve finished work on the M3’s little brother.

The biggest difference of the “Mighty 1″ is the Carbon roof that lowers the center of gravity by eliminating 13 lbs from the car’s highest point. If you consider the calculation factor for the reduction in unsprung mass, then together with the extremely lightweight forged BBS wheels and the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, a total weight reduction of 1761/3 lbs Stone has been accomplished.

The 1-Series engine also received some attention. The 3-liter sequential twin turbo 6-cylinder typically produces 340 hp . A series of modifications like a new, bigger intercooler, an optimized intake, and a sport catalyst combined with a titanium exhaust system manufactured by Akrapovic to a-workx specification. The larger diameter configuration of the titanium exhaust accommodates the increased gas flow and helps the output of the engine to reach a satisfying 435 hp with 405 lb/ft of torque.

To transfer the full potential of this increase in engine output into traction the next area that a-workx optimized was the suspension and brakes. An adjustable a-workx suspension from KW with 3-way adjustment of the compression and rebound (in high and low speed) together with special top mounts, increase the traction and speed through corners while retaining everyday driveability.
